Poems » The wanderer

Look at that man,
Who became a wanderer.
He'll leave his home late in the day,
To find another purpose,
Another land.

He'll be travelling light,
For he won't need burdens on his way.
He'll leave alone,
For the road is his companion.

Wherever he'll go,
He may stop to talk,
Work or rest.

He might never come back here,
For it's not his home anymore.

Those in power are responsible for his decision.

Notes/trivia

  • I wrote this poem as part of a universe I've been building for around 6 years. "Battle drive" is set in the same universe.

  • The protagonist is a high-ranking military officer of a kingdom who got into a huge argument with the king, then left to go wander the world. In the end, he did come back to his former land, but more than a millennium later.
