Poems » Fourteen

"Love is wonderful."
These words resonate in my mind,
Since the sun rose in the sky.

Even though I'd have like to be with you,
No matter how far we are from each other,
You're always in my heart.

So I write.
I write a poem.
A poem for you.

As the lines appear,
One thing is in my mind:
You, obviously.

I start to see you,
Even if, in this world,
You don't have a body yet.

And yet,
I'm focused on this text,
And I continue to write.

I feel your hand on my face,
Your lips on mine,
But it's merely an illusion.

At least for now.
But I'm patient,
As my feelings are eternal.

So I present you this poem,
On this day dedicated to love,
To bring us ever closer.

Notes/trivia

  • This poem was the first poem I wrote in French. I then translated to English later down the line. That's why it's titled "Fourteen" and not "Fourteenth", among others.
