Poems » Bullet

A bullet pierced my heart
And made my blood flow.
But strangely,
Nothing leaves my body.

Warmth fills my veins,
And eventually my whole body,
As if I was alive again.

I wonder who shot that bullet,
Because I want to thank them.
What doesn't kill me,
Makes me stronger.

This bullet made me much stronger,
Made me want to fight,
Fight in the name of what matters to me.

A closer look showed me something.
The bullet has three names on it.
Mine was one of them,
And I knew the other two.

My blood's flowing.
Stronger,
Faster.

I don't want it to stop,
And I'll enjoy this new life.
I'll keep the blood flowing
For as long as possible.

Notes/trivia

  • In the age of firearms and missiles, it seems Cupid ditched the bow in favour of a sniper rifle. 😁
  • I tried to use more metaphors this time.
