Poems » Disconnect

The outside world.
For two days,
I didn't know
What that meant.

It might have been short,
But it was pleasant.
During that time,
I lived differently.

I visited my sealed space
As much as I could.
I was even more connected with
The woman I care about the most.

It really is nice,
Once in a while,
To keep the world at bay,
To just disconnect.

But that time ended.
I reconnected since then.
That won't stop me
From spending time with my beloved.

Notes/trivia

  • I wrote this poem after a period of two days where my internet connection was down.
  • The title of the poem and the "just disconnect" part are references to the song Disconnect, by Megadeth.
